Looking Round the Kitchen First

One day, when the Korean war was at its height, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung visited a mobile post office of the Korean People’s Army.

Paying close attention to the dietary life of the soldiers even in the days of war, he looked round the kitchen first.

In the kitchen he looked unhappy to see the foods there.

At that time the soldiers on duty would prepare foods before mealtime as the task of carrying letters and other mail matters had to be carried any time. So the messengers, who came late, would eat cold foods.

Kim Il Sung told the commanding officers of the unit to keep the foods and soup warm before serving them to such messengers.

The officers and the soldiers on duty were moved by his meticulous consideration, and made a determination to work as he had said.
